New to A.A.?
You do not need to sign up or pay anything before attending a meeting. Choose one from the list, arrive a few minutes early if you can, and let someone know you are new if you want help getting settled.
Anonymity is the foundation of A.A. No one will ask your last name, and who you see and what you hear at a meeting stays there. More about anonymity.
Not sure whether drinking is a problem? The A.A. self-assessment can help, and there is more for newcomers, including what your first meeting is like.

For families, courts, and Spanish speakers
Family and friends
If someone else’s drinking is the problem, Al-Anon is for you. Open A.A. meetings also welcome family and friends.
Court-ordered attendance
You are welcome. Choose an open meeting from the list. Many meetings will sign attendance slips; ask the chairperson, since practices vary by group.
